While your Teacher may have taught you to write, your Toddler Trainer taught you to dream. It’s time to share your dreams with the world.
Your lifetime wish is to be a Professional Author.
You are not allowed to attend university. You need to register as a self-employed writer. To complete this lift you must:
- max the writing skill
- complete the Speed Writer skill challenge
- complete the Prolific Writer skill challenge
- complete the Specialist Writer skill challenge
- reach painting level 4
- accept all writing opportunities presented to you
- not accept any painting opportunies if they get offered
In order to write effectively you need a pc at home. If you have not yet cleared Journalist you may only buy the cheapest pc. No one else in your family may use your pc.
Writing at the library:
- if you have a baby in your household you may not write on library property
- if you have a toddler in your household you may not hire a sitter so you can go to the library to write in peace, you must take them with you
- if you have a child in your household you may not write on library property on school days unless it’s between 9:30 am and 2:30 pm. On non school days you may take your child with you to the library and write from 9 am – 9 pm
- you may not write on library property if you have a teen in your household who is being punished
- it doesn’t matter how many other adults are in your household. As the at home parent your writer has to deal with them
- notice how these are worded, the baby/toddler/child/teen doesn’t actually have to be your offspring to interfere with your library time
You must write at least one of each of the following:
- children’s
- comic
- fantasy
- fiction
- horror
- non-fiction
- masterpiece
- poetry
- satire
- sports
- trashy
- vaudeville
If you are lucky enough to get the biography opportunity 3 times then your sim also has to write his autobiography.
You must keep a single copy of each of your author’s books in the family bookshelf.
Once you have completed this lift you must sell your pc if you have not yet cleared Journalist.
All your sims may now learn the writing skill and write books.
Your sims may now join the bookclub if they want.
Your sims may now purchase items from the Bookshelves tab in Buy Mode.
Your sims may now use the Terrain Tools in Build Mode.
Your family gets the option to spend some more of their lifetime happiness points again.
